Neophyte clerks in some bookstores may need to be reminded that Lightning Source Print On Demand books are called "back-orders." If your book store cannot oblige (the book is no return), and/or you do not like on-line buying, I can mail you a copy inside the USA.
If you are in Japan, please try Amazon. Some
books will get to you quickly and some will take forever, depending upon
whether anyone has ordered enough copies to prime the pump. Were the "Japan
Times" to fill a page with reviews of all of our books -- why not? -- within
a month Amazon would have a stock of all the books in Japan and you could
get any of them quickly.
TOPSY-TURVY 1585 $35. for students and poor people. $50. for others. Orientalism & Occidentalism $16. for students and poor people. $35. for others. Fly-ku! $20. for students and poor people. $30 for others. TOPSY-TURVY 1585 SHORT VERSION $30. for students and poor people. $40 for others. Cherry Blossom Epiphany $35. for students and poor people. $50 for others. The Fifth Season $30. for students and poor people. $40. for others. The Woman Without a Hole $35. for students and poor people. $45 for others. Octopussy, Dry Kidney & Blue Spots (same bk as above) Mad In Translation $40. for students and poor people. $50. for others. Kyôka, Japan's Comic Verse $30. for students and poor people. $40. for others. A Dolphin In the Woods $30. for students and poor people. $40. for others. The Cat Who Thought Too Much $40. for students and poor people. $50. for others. * The Cat Who is more expensive for the illustrations gave me trouble and the Mad Translation Reader is exceptionally cheap because it would make a damn good textbook, imho. * Attentive to numbers? Did you catch the page number and price combination for A Dolphin, suitable for a book of word play? I will sign each book and perhaps make a few corrections. Paraverse Press has a permanent address but circumstances took me (robin d gill) elsewhere. Please contact me at info at paraverse dot org or uncoolwabin at hotmail dot com and I will send you my snail-mail address, which is a house in the country at present. Sometimes I can only get to the PO once a month. Likewise for cashing checks, it takes me forever, so until my circumstances improve, I would prefer you to buy the books online. As an author-publisher, I get well paid well enough for each copy sold. Then, write me and I will send signatures and other goodies (if you think notes for the book etc are goodies) to you -- for i can slip an envelope into the PO box by merely crossing a railroad track. Any additional donation is welcome; your author-publisher may be rich in ideas but his bank account says he is what used to be called a pauper. Good work takes time and that takes money. Please see our patrons of paraverse press page. |

Bookstores
should contact Ingram or other wholesalers that deal with Lightning Source
(my printer-distributor) for wholesale orders.
The wholesale discount is generally 40%, but O&O, as the tiniest book is 50%, while Cherry Blossom Epiphany is expensive enough that the bookstore will make profit enough for anyone with a conscience at 36%. If you have problems, call me and I'll contact my printer-distributor. Please contact me at uncoolwabin at hotmail dot com. Or, telephone me at area code 352 + tel. number 472-2217. The books are not returnable because we do not have the wealth to risk having them returned by bookstores with the wrong patrons. Bookstore owners might examine our work, my books, at Google Books where they are 100% viewable. You will note our bilingual content and the appearance of the books is equivalent to those usually sold for two or three times our price by traditional presses, so your patrons will be delighted (and even surprised) to find them at decent prices. If you cater to true bibliophiles, you will gain many brownie points by stocking paraverse books. |

*Abracadabra, Ivory
Tower! So far, paraverse press books have been used for courses at
City University of New York (Rise, Ye Sea Slugs!), Smith (Orientalism &
Occidentalism) and Univ of Wisconsin in Madison (Octopussy, Dry
Kidney & Blue Spots). I hope other professors and universities will
be broad-minded enough to judge books on their content and, provided
they are informative and entertaining, use them in courses, regardless
of the author's position, press's reputation and book's style. |
